Actionable Steps to Attract Developers

In this final episode, Adam explains why he hates writing headings such as "introduction" or "conclusion." Adam also highlights what to do next to attract developers.

And now here we are at the conclusion, which is titled—subtitled, technically Do This Next. This is the conclusion chapter and the conclusion of this first season of the podcast, Developer Marketing Does Not Exist, the companion to the book.

And even though the book is more philosophy than individual writing tactics, I am going to drop one on you in this episode, this final episode: I do not like headings in blog posts and in books apparently of introduction and conclusion. And yet I found myself for reasons that are way too inside baseball with a book that has those as chapter titles.

And the reason that I don't like those, and this is true in blog posts and especially true, it's why I'm mentioning it now in this section of conclusions. When you write conclusion as a heading, you are completely wasting an opportunity to summarize the posts, to get a call to action within that someone has read all the way to the end, and then you are just cutting them loose with this anemic conclusion heading.
You can do much better than that. And so if you take one thing away from this series, it's get some better headings for your conclusions. That's why this chapter is called, Do This Next.

In the chapter, I go through and provide a list of actions to take for each of the chapters in the book.
And so you can go through and see if there's only one thing that you learned from the Tutorials chapter or the Tools chapter, here's an idea of one action you can take. And you can go through and you have almost a dozen potential actions that you can take once you have read this book.

So now that you've listened to this podcast series, what actions should you take after listening to this podcast?

I'm going to give you three:

1. If you have not yet, read the book, Developer Marketing Does Not Exist.

2. It's to actually take some action based on reading it. Even if you want to skip to the last chapter and look through the actions and figure out what to do, please read the book, take some action.

3. And then the third thing is if you want to really amplify what you are able to do and help your team to attract developers with authentic content. You really should reach out to the EveryDeveloper team. This is what we do. We love working with companies like yours. And so you can find us at everydeveloper.com.

And this is the action-taking final chapter, Do This Next, of Developer Marketing Does Not Exist.
